We encourage patients to self-manage minor common medical problems for example colds, vomiting & diarrhoea, sore throats etc by visiting a local pharmacist. For more information and help with minor illnesses or injuries please visit Health A to Z – NHS.
Urgent GP appointments
We operate a daily triage system; this means that we will have a GP on call for ‘on the day’ emergencies, we also have ‘on the day’ face to face and telephone appointments for reception to book following the guidance of our medical A-Z that one of our GP partners has written.

Enhanced access
We may also book an appointment for you in our enhanced access clinics; these are available at The Alney Practice, Brockworth Surgery, Churchdown Surgery, Longlevens Surgery and Hucclecote Surgery and are available Monday to Friday 7am to 8am 6:30pm to 8pm and on Saturday mornings 8am to 12:30pm.
You will be asked for your consent when you book, and again when you arrive for your appointment. If you later change your mind and do not consent to your record being accessed, you cannot be seen, as the doctor will need access to your medical records to be able to carry out a safe consultation.
Our aim is to make it easier and more convenient for patients to see a GP/nurse/HCA by providing more appointments at certain surgeries across the area. These will be known as enhanced access appointments. Patients can book to be seen regardless of which surgery they are registered at.
These appointments can only be offered to patients registered with one of the North & South Primary Care Network practices.
These appointments will be between Monday to Friday 7am to 8am and 6:30pm to 8pm and also on a Saturday morning from 8am to midday.
Our reception teams may also offer you these appointments at Gloucester Health Access Centre during the weekend.
Your appointment
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

Please inform us when booking appointments if you have more than one concern, as a longer time slot may be required.
Important information
