Surgery clinics

At Hucclecote Surgery we offer a range of additional clinics and services, details of which can be found below. If you would like to attend one of the clinics or services please contact the reception team who will be more than happy to book you in.

There are some tasks you can do, such as health reviews, using our online forms.

Antenatal

Our community midwife attends the surgery every Monday 9:20am to 1pm.

Appointments for the antenatal clinic need to be pre-booked.

The community midwife office at Gloucestershire Royal is contactable on 0300 4225128.

Expectant women can also have the pertussis vaccination which will protect the unborn child against whooping cough. Please speak to the midwife or practice nurse.

Baby

Our health visitor runs a baby clinic. They are based at Brockworth Childrens’ Centre, Moorfield Road, Brockworth and can be contacted on 0300 421 7950.

The practice nurses run the baby vaccination clinics and these appointments can be booked for any time during the week. Appointments for the 8 week check and first baby vaccinations will be sent out by letter by the practice.

Pre-school booster vaccination reminders are sent out by the child health department.

COPD/Asthma

Our COPD clinic is held twice a week on a Monday and Wednesday and is run by our qualified COPD nurse. If you have been asked to complete a review for COPD or Asthma please visit our online forms page.

Family planning

A full and confidential family planning service is available at the surgery for women of all ages, either by the nurse (for pill check only) or GP. If you have been asked to complete a pill review, please complete our online form.

Flu

The flu clinics run from October each winter. Influenza vaccinations are available to patients who are at risk. The at risk categories are:

  • Over 65 years of age
  • Diabetics
  • Asthmatics on inhaled steroids or who have been hospitalised with this condition
  • Anyone suffering from heart problems/disease
  • Immuno-suppressed patients
  • Any other chronic medical problem
  • Patients living in residential/nursing homes
  • Pregnant women
  • Patients who are carers

There is also a child flu campaign which is running during the same period and this is a nasal application which is less invasive.

INR

We run regular INR clinics to performs checks and tests to review and monitor our patients on Warfarin.

Travel

The practice nurses run Travel Consultations. Patients need to complete a travel assessment form as early as possible to allow for appropriate course(s) of vaccinations. For more information please visit travelhealthpro.org.uk.

Blood clinic

We do not have a blood clinic anymore, but we have a phlebotomist that work Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Diabetes

We have three sessions of diabetes clinics a week which are run by our lead diabetic nurse.
